IHG GIRLS' SOCCER RULES

All FWA rules apply, except those stated below.

1. This is a 7‑a‑side tournament.

2. All players have to be in proper attire, i.e. Full jersey T-shirt with number, boots without metal studs, long socks, shin pads, short fingernails etc.

3. A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to herself or another player, including any kind of jewellery.

4. Players must be residents of the respective halls. Each team will be allowed to register a maximum of eighteen (18) players.

5. The finalized team registration list is to be handed in 15 minutes before the tournament commences. If a team is found to have fielded a non-registered player, they shall forfeit the game and 3 match points with 3 goals awarded to the opposing team. Please refer to Annex A.

6. All registered players must be assigned only 1 registered jersey number.

7. The tournament will be held on a round robin basis.

8. The duration of all matches shall be twenty-five (25) minutes divided into two (2) halves of eleven (11) minutes each half with three (3) minutes break between turnaround.

9. A match is played by two (2) teams, each consisting of no more than seven (7) players, one (1) of whom is the goalkeeper. At the start of a match, each team must have seven (7) players. Any team that fails to field 7 players will be given the grace of 2 minutes from the scheduled time. Failing which, the referee will call off the match and the team with 7 players, which is on the field ready to play will receive a walkover with 3 match points and 3 goals.

10. A grace period of two (2) minutes will be given after the scheduled time for kick-off. All teams are expected to be punctual. After this time have lapsed, the team which is on the field ready to play will receive a walkover with 3 match points and 3 goals.

11. There will be a minimum rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in between any matches for each team.

12. There shall be no offside rule.

13. There will be a cap on 50% of varsity players (based on the previous year’s IVP list), i.e. maximum of 3 players on field at any one time.

14. The number of substitutions made during a match is unlimited. A player who has been replaced may return to the pitch as a substitute for another player.

15. There is no cap on IVP substitutions.

16. a) Any player accumulating two (2) yellow cards will be suspended for the subsequent match. Thereafter, any player who has already received two (2) yellow cards and a match suspension will receive a match suspension for any other yellow card shown to her during the tournament.

b) Any player who receives a red card will be sent off immediately and suspended for the subsequent match. Any player accumulating two (2) red cards will be banned from the tournament.

17. The following scoring system is applicable to the tournament:

Win 3 points
Draw 1 point
Loss 0 point
Walkover 3 points and 3 goals

18. a) In the case of a tie on points, head to head will be considered followed by the number of goals scored, then number of wins.

b) In the event that there is still a tie, extra time will be played. The extra time will be seven (7) minutes each half with no break between turnaround. If the score is still tied after extra time, golden goal will be played 5 minutes after end of extra time. The team to score a goal first wins the game as well as the tournament.

Professional referees will be engaged for all matches.

Linesmen will not be required.

Any disputes must be submitted to the IHG Convening Committee within 24 hours after the tournament.
21. Other rules and regulations are stated in the General Rules and Regulations for IHG 06/07.



yepp get yourselves familiarize with what to expect for IHG next year :) of cos this doesnt mean you have to rush out to get your boots and shin guards as yet because we've to narrow the team down to 18 girls. Hence, it is imperative for those serious about soccer to attend dec trainings ok?

on monday, robert taught us simple warm up drills and also ball control techniques. NOT EASY. be prepared to have fun though. so i hope more people can turn up for our last training next monday, 13 Nov, 4-6pm at TH bball courts.

meanwhile, enjoy life. dont study too much la! when it's time to hit the books, you'll know it. for now, relax and breathe easy :)
